The firefighter drives the #5 Firetruck around the parking lot for a demonstration
They have a bright yellow bus to escort people from the airport if there is ever a fire
The preschoolers watch as the firetruck backs up
The firetruck lifts it crane
The firefighter attaches the hose to the truck to fill it up with water
The hose is very long. It takes two firefighters to stretch it out.
Opening the fire hydrant to fill the hose
The firefighter shows the preschoolers the equipment inside the truck
Jax's dad is a firefighter at the airport. He gave us the grand tour of his station.
The firetruck shoots out water
Look how high the crane reaches. It has a sharp point at the end to puncture an airplane so they can squirt water inside of it.
Water can squirt out of the truck from two different hoses
We get to see the tools on board the truck. The firefighter shows us a big pair of pliers.
Here is a small hose
The kids get to feel the water filling up the hose with their feet
The preschoolers get to take a ride in the fire truck. We get to see the different hoses in front squirting out water.
The firefighter shows us the oxygen tanks that are inside the chairs on the truck.
The firefighter dresses up in his fire resistant suit. The kids said they were not scared!
During our fire truck ride we see cargo airplanes
We also spotted the control tower at the airport
We saw small airplanes too!
The fire station also has a police car
Jax and Brooklyn with their dad
Trying on fire fighter helmets
Oh man are those helmets heavy!!
The children went on a walk and we spotted a fire hydrant. We discussed how the fire fighters hook up their hoses to the hydrant to put out fires in the neighborhood.
They discovered that some of the bolts on it were in the shape of an octagon.
A BIG THANK YOU TO JAX & BROOKLYN'S DAD FOR THE AWESOME TOUR OF THE FIRESTATION! WE LEARNED SO MUCH AND APPRECIATE THAT YOU WERE ABLE TO TOUR THE MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY STUDENTS AND THE TUESDAY, THURSDAY STUDENTS!!!
