Money Unit

Working at the Sensory Table with Large Coins
The preschoolers had a wonderful time working with the large coins. They compared them to real coins that they brought for show-and-tell. They also worked on patterning with them.

Jax brought a coin from Canada for show-and-tell. His dad brought it back for him after visiting there.

Ms. Ashley compares a real penny to our large plastic pennies.
Drawing artwork for our piggy banks
A big thank you to our mom that donated many coffee containers so that we may use them for our piggy banks.
 Piggy Bank Artwork

We learned about the front and back of pennies, nickles, dimes, quarters, and half dollars and their value. We also learned about the former presidents that are on the coins.
Our piggy banks turned out wonderfully!
The preschoolers have already decided what they will buy with the money they save in their bank. We discussed different ways to earn money through chores.
Ms. Ashley read us Corduroy. In the story the little girl Lisa uses her money that she has saved in her piggy bank to buy Corduroy.
