Summer of Exploration~Field Trip to the Aviation Museum

Field Trip to the Aviation Museum

Our tour guide show us all the different types of propellers
 Fighter Plane
Pilot Uniforms. They have one that might just fit us!

We look at all the different air plane makers in Wichita
Wow...We look little compared to this airplane
 Miniature airplanes

The wing has a see-through plastic so you can see that it is constructed of wood
A miniature wooden airplane just like what Dylan brought for show-and-tell
Hanging out in the flight simulators

Look at our future pilots. They really know what they are doing!
Looking out the window of the control tower
A view of the airplanes on the ground from the control tower
Look, we see an airplane taking off from Mc Connell Air Force Base
Real equipment that people in the control tower used many years ago
 Inside a cargo plane
 Look at all the controls!
Now here's a really BIG airplane
What a fun field trip!

Money Unit

Working at the Sensory Table with Large Coins
The preschoolers had a wonderful time working with the large coins. They compared them to real coins that they brought for show-and-tell. They also worked on patterning with them.

Jax brought a coin from Canada for show-and-tell. His dad brought it back for him after visiting there.

Ms. Ashley compares a real penny to our large plastic pennies.
Drawing artwork for our piggy banks
A big thank you to our mom that donated many coffee containers so that we may use them for our piggy banks.
 Piggy Bank Artwork

We learned about the front and back of pennies, nickles, dimes, quarters, and half dollars and their value. We also learned about the former presidents that are on the coins.
Our piggy banks turned out wonderfully!
The preschoolers have already decided what they will buy with the money they save in their bank. We discussed different ways to earn money through chores.
Ms. Ashley read us Corduroy. In the story the little girl Lisa uses her money that she has saved in her piggy bank to buy Corduroy.
