Young Artist Exhibit~Westlink Public Library~Wichita, Kansas

Our Beautiful Artwork is displayed at the Wichita Westlink Public Library. We braved the rain today to look at it. We were so excited to see it on the wall. We toured the children's section of the library and looked at the artwork that other schools created.
There were many things to see at the library. We looked at a display with Winnie the Pooh Characters in it.
We talked about all the cool displays we found.
We each chose a book to take back to school. Ms. Ashley also read us a new book about cows.
Look at some of the wonderful books we found!
We can't wait to get back to school to read them!!!
What a FUN field trip!!!

Insect & Bug Unit~Learning Activities Inside the Classroom

Bug Search
We used tweezers to search for bugs and insects hidden in the grass
Once we found a bug, we put it into the bug catcher

We found a grasshopper in the bug box. Next we compared it to a real photo of a grasshopper.  Ms. Ashley took that photo during a field trip to the Art Museum. The grasshopper was sitting on the yellow flower.
For art time we made lady bugs and caterpillars using our thumb prints
We did flyswatter painting

We had so much fun with the mini flyswatters. We pretended like we were swatting at flies.

After the paint dried, we added tiny bug stickers to our artwork

Insect & Bugs Unit

We went on a hunt for insects in the field. There were so many bugs to be found. We spotted butterflies, a bumble bee, and even geese.

Running in the field is so much fun. We love wide open spaces.
We caught a few bugs in our nets.

Find a dandelion....Make a Wish!!!

There are so many things to learn when we explore nature. Science is the world around us!

Easter Egg Hunt

We read the book "All About Eggs". Ms. Ashley asked the preschoolers what animals lay eggs. This is what they said...
We drew pictures of our eggs that we found and wrote the word "egg".
Watch us go. Some of the eggs were hidden in some pretty tricky places.

At the end of the hunt we counted our eggs. We had a great time!
HAPPY EASTER!
