Family Event~Creating Garden Markers For Our Tulips~

Look at the wonderful garden bags we took home from the Family Event Night!

We each received a Earth friendly shopping bag,  an "Up, Down, Around" book, a pot, potting mix, package of flower seeds, and instructions.
We created garden markers using a paint stir stick that we painted white. We used paints to write our name on it and added our own personal designs
 Some of us painted flowers
Some of us loved writing our names
Some of us new exactly what we wanted our garden markers to look like
Some of us wanted to paint all by ourselves
Some of us wanted a little help from our parents
Some of us chose our favorite color to paint with
And some of us created butterflies
~Thanks Families For All Your Help~

The Tulips Are Blooming!

A few weeks has passed since our tulips began to sprout up from the ground. They are already getting so big, just like us!!!
 Some are pink

 Some are yellow
 Some are red
We learned about the inside of a flower and it's purpose. We colored a worksheet with all of the names of each flower part. We also learned about the different parts of a tulip.
Look at our tulip math adding activity!

What a Rainy Spring Break Week! Look at all the Fun Activities We Did Indoors.

Here as some of the books we read about rain this week. We learned about how clouds are formed and why it rains.
Each of our classmates had a "Splish-Splashy Day" book to read along with during circle time.
We used our pointer fingers to follow along with each word in the book. We talked about reading words in a book from left to right. The children shared their rainy day experiences with their friends at school.

Watch us jump around indoors doing a little puddle jumping. The puddles are labeled with numbers and the corresponding amount of raindrops. We hopped and jumped on those puddles as we read the number and counted.
On the playground we spotted dark rain clouds to the East.
On the playground we spotted white clouds and clear skies to the West.
Our class enjoyed singing the song "Rain, rain, Go away. Come again another day".

Working on Rhyming Words & Counting by 2's

Our class read "The Foot Book" by Dr. Seuss
We made foot prints in paint
We counted our feet by "2's"
The older preschoolers counted by 2's to the number 100 using the numbers chart as a helper

Ms. Ashley wrote a word on the board. Then, we would come up with as many words as we could to rhyme with it.
We looked at the alphabet chart for beginning letters to add to the end sounds to make a word.

Some of the words we sounded out were;
cat, hat, bat, not, cot, hot, wish, fish, & dish
We worked on coming up with beginning sounds that worked with the end sound on our worksheet. We discovered that they were all rhyming words.

We are SO smart!!!

Creating a Rainbow of Flowers

We Read "Planting A Rainbow" by Lois Ehlert
We looked at all the wonderful colors each flower was in the book.
This gave us some great ideas on what we wanted our flowers to look like.

Look at our rainbow of flowers we created. Isn't it beautiful?!?

All of our preschoolers are so creative!!!
We made stems and leaves using pipe cleaners and green construction paper
We used watercolors and droppers to create colorful flowers

Our Artwork Will Be Displayed At The Westlink Public Library The Entire Month Of April.
Our Class Will Take A Field Trip To Check It Out! Look For Photos Coming Soon!
